PMM missionaries Ramiro and Mercy Baez powerfully finished the year 2014 by preaching to and teaching over one thousand children in Guayaquil, Ecuador. The children also received Shoe Boxes from Samaritan’s Purse. The PMM couple, assisted by daughter Gabby, held the 3- day evangelistic services December 29-31 accompanied by Franklin Graham of Samaritan’s Purse and Greta Van Susteren of Fox News who joyfully spread the Good News along with the Boxes filled with Christmas gifts and literature that teaches about eternal life through Jesus.
With the fine help from Samaritan’s Purse, the Baez family receives 35 large containers yearly packed with 250,000 Samaritan’s Purse Christmas Shoe Boxes for the very poor children in Ecuador. While passing out the boxes is a large task in itself, Ramiro and Mercy also arrange and help with the training of 9,000 volunteers from 1500 churches in Ecuador who work together to handle the task. In conjunction with the distribution of the boxes, the volunteers also teach an estimated 150,000 children biblical discipleship throughout the year.
So, it’s not all about passing out boxes full of Christmas goodies. While that does excite and bring temporary joy to the children, they also come to receive the greatest of all gifts: a personal relationship with our Lord Jesus and eternal life filled with unimaginable joy and excitement, a life without violence, hate, sinfulness, lawlessness, or poverty. You see, there is no sin or ungodliness in Heaven; only holiness and righteousness and a Father Who Loves and Cares for His Children.
